Roach cricket

Written by Stuart Revnell No Gravatar

This evening I found a cockroach in the apartment just before dinner.  I spent ten minutes comically chasing it around with a yellow tufted broom, before resorting to the tried and tested technique of placing a glass over it and removing it from the premises.  I was wracked with guilt though, as in doing so, I accidentally damaged one of its legs, and spent dinner wondering whether it would be OK.  By way of comfort, Jane advised me that a cockroach is the only creature which could survive a nuclear winter.

That night, however, I slept fitfully and the plight of the roach continued to trouble me.   I dreamt of a peculiar form of cricket where someone would throw a roach at me, and I would attempt to bat it away.  No sooner had I successfully done so than the bowler would take aim again, but this time, would throw an entire handful of roaches at me, which would cover me from head to toe.

All very strange.
