Scary House

Written by Stuart Revnell No Gravatar

Tonight we visited an Indian fairground.

There was nary a spliff-smoking, Waltzer spinning, shirtless traveller in sight.  Instead, a very polite throng of Indian children with their families, enjoying a rather sweet collection of rides, amongst which were ‘Mery Cup’ (sic – like a spinning cup and saucer) and what we’ve called ‘The Pigeon Ride’ (two headed pigeons which go up and down).

My favourite, though, was ‘Scary House’ – the Indian equivalent of the Haunted House ride we’re all used to, where the most frightening aspect of the whole ride was promoted by a picture of a hirsute grey monster touching an Indian man’s bottom in a somewhat lascivious manner.
